Pascal Albin… An artist to discover! …

Pascal Albin is the kind of artist you need to give yourself some time to discover and appreciate…

Born in Belgium, he grew up in the South of France.
A ten-year stay in Brazil will be decisive for him in many respects.
Trained in musicology, he shared his first artistic loves between theatre stages and concert halls…

Attracted by traditional music from Nice, popular music and world music, he joined the street band Prova d’Orchestra.

He then embarked, on the Melonious Quartet project : a quartet of modern mandolins, totally innovative and oriented towards the sophisticated music of Satie, Milhaud, Poulenc… as well as traditional Provencal music and the popular music of Franck Zappa, Hermeto Pascoal, Pixinguinha, among others.

Tours in Europe and Brazil as well as his participation in numerous festivals in France, Spain, Italy, Finland and Estonia will enrich his musical experience.

Three albums : Au Sud de la Mandoline, En forme de poire and La Miugrana will be the concrete expression of his participation in this quartet of mandolins.
We also note his participation in the albums Hiri  by Kepa Junkera, as well as in Noce de Zinc by Jean-Louis Chinaski.

His proven experience in setting up, implementing and carrying out large-scale artistic projects makes him an essential partner in the success of major shows combining music, singing, theatre and staging…

This is evidenced by his intense activity for the benefit of operas for children.

Thus, La Belle Lisse Poire du Prince de Motordu, based on the original work of Pef, was created in the south of France, then revived at his initiative, in Brazil in Campinas, and in Rio de Janeiro. On his return to France he repeated this experience for two consecutive years in Nice.

He also created in Brazil, in Paulinia, O Pequeno Principe e as Flores do Jardim inspired by Antoine de Saint Exupéry’s book, Le Petit Prince.

He then embarked on a new composition project, L’Odyssée d’un Pin maritime , taken from Bernard Avron’s work Le Pin sur les Planches.

His talents as a composer led him to conceive a first musical album in the form of sharing and life experience, Au Cœur de mes Silences, an original opus inspired by the music that inhabits him and which is the fruit of his experience, his encounters and his multiple contacts.

This was followed by the release of a double single, Case Départ and Je réalise, then the adventure continued with Le Meilleur, which was also a video clip directed by Pedro Sodré.

Another exceptional recognition, the City of Nice honoured “this local child” with the music for the anthem of its prestigious carnival.

Throughout his career, he shared the stage and projects with musicians such as Bruno Coulais, A Filetta, Marcello Ferreira, Arthur Maia, Kiko Continentino, Claudio Andrade and Adriano Campagnani, David Feldman, Mauro Beleu, Renato Rocketh, Heber Ribeiro, Fred Luzignant, Jean-Dumas Rodrigo Marchevsky, Bijan Chemirani, Michel Bismuth, Kepa Junkera, Manu Théron, Hamilton de Holanda, Mike Marshall, the Madeira Trio, …

Timeless music cannot be forgotten. The music by Pascal Albin belongs to this category…

His Mediterranean life, his belonging to Belgium and France, his Brazilian experience make him a citizen of the universe… and an artist who will know how to spice up with his talent and his own genius, any cultural project of quality…
